How To: Grant Other People Access to Your Gmail Account Without Sharing Your Password

Whether it's because you have no access to the internet or because you're simply on vacation, having someone else check your emails may be a possibility. You can give them your password and screen name, but that's never a good thing. Giving out your password to anyone, even someone you trust, is not something that I would ever suggest for two reasons:They'll use your password to log in another time after, or... They'll use your password and try to get into your other accounts (since most people use the same password). You can never trust everyone with your email password, but there's a way to grant access to your Gmail account without having to do so.

Gmail Email DelegationUsing the feature of Gmail delegation grants access to some permissions such as viewing and replying to emails from their own Gmail accounts.The first step is to open up your Gmail account and click on the gear icon in the right-hand corner, then press Settings. Once you're in the settings, click on the Accounts and Import tab, and scroll down to and click on the link that says Add another account under the option Grant access to your account. Once you click the Add another account link, you should be taken to this page. Enter the email of who you want to grant access to your Gmail account. Your friend (in my case Miami) should receive an email that allows them to accept this request. After pressing accept, the whole process should take 30 minutes or so to process. They will now be able to click on their email name in the right hand corner and access your email account. If you want to take away the delegation from your email account, open the Accounts and Import tab and click on the Delete link next to the account you would like to remove.Note: You can delegate your account to 10 different Gmail accounts at one time.

Who says magic isn't real?WIRED shelled out $500 to one of their writers, Brent Rose, to spend on Magic. In the video, which has since gone viral, Brent orders a variety of things including food, beer, a hoodie, an authentic Mexican wrestling mask, and even some weed.While we didn't have $500 to spend, we decided to keep it cheap and try out the service out for ourselves, with a more realistic limit of around $100. Food & Beer DeliveryAbout an hour after my payment went through, our delivery arrived! I ran excitedly to the door and voilÃ , our driver had a 12-pack of beers in one hand and our In-N-Out in the other. The first thing that I noticed was that our 2 tall cans of PBR were replaced with a 12-pack of the exact same beer. Hell to the yes!. It seems the grocery or liquor store the driver went to didn't have tall cans, so he got a 12-pack.

Ordering Something a Little Harder to FindFinally, we decided to order something a bit more difficult than food or alcohol, and we narrowed it down to three more-obscure items:V/H/S (the movie) on VHS The Room on DVD Washed Out's Within and Without vinyl After having some trouble with Magic initially receiving my text messages, I received a call from one of their managers, John, who kindly asked what I would like to order over the phone. After he jotted down the items, we hung up. Around 20 minutes later, they had options for me to purchase all three items, with VHS being the only item that I wouldn't be able to get same-day.I decided on The Room for $40, and a little over an hour later, look what arrived at my door.

How It WorksUsing actual, real-life people, Magic has a staff answering customer requests at all hours of the day, communicating with third-party services to deliver whatever their customer wants. The service that brought us our beer and food was Schlep & Fetch, a delivery service located in Hollywood that Magic has a close relationship with. Each scenario is unique, so prices will range from customer to customer.We talked to Grant Lowery from Plus Labs, the company behind Magic, about how exactly they profit from the service. While fees vary, you should expect a 5% to 10% markup on whatever you would usually spend to get something delivered directly through any of the third-party services.My In-N-Out, if delivered directly through a service like Schlep & Fetch, would be about $2 to $5 less than if I ordered it through Magic, but then I would need to call the service and place the orderâ€”definitely not as easy as texting. And of course, I didn't have to do any of the work in finding the appropriate third-party service, which I had never heard of until now.When it comes to what you can order, you can literally order anything you want, as long as it's legal. Everything from a pack of gum to a brand new BMW can be brought to you, as long as you've got the money for it.Magic has already been used to deliver sushi and flowers to a boat, prevent someone from going to court, get a parking ticket dismissed, make reservations at exclusive clubs, plan a birthday party, and even help someone sell their truck.
Our Thoughts on MagicAll in all, I was extremely satisfied with the way everything went with Magic. In total, we spend $105 for three orders: In-N-Out, a 12-pack of cheap beer, and a not-so-easy-to-find DVD.Delivery times were exceptional, especially because the WonderHowTo office is smack in the middle of Santa Monica, where traffic is relentless all day longâ€”so to get anything in around an hour is a miracle in and of itself.Another aspect of Magic that was wonderfully surprising was their customer service. Instead of feeling like I was dealing with a robot, I felt as if I was texting a friend. I loved that they called me after a few technical issues. They would also promptly text me about how the delivery went a few minutes after receiving the item. If their customer service continues to go above and beyond for everyone else in the future, then Magic is going to be something to reckon with.
Getting on BoardCurrently, there is a 30,000 people waitlist for Magic. You can share the service on Twitter and Facebook to climb up the list, but it could still be a little while before you can get your hands on Magic (unless you want to pay a large fee). Google launched the Pixel 2 XL with a unique pinch-to-zoom feature in the YouTube app. The feature is pretty basic, allowing users to expand the video to full-screen on devices with 18:9 aspect ratios with a simple pinch gesture. Considering its simplicity, it was strange that the feature was limited to the Pixel 2 XL. Today that exclusivity has ended as the feature is rolling out to the Galaxy S8, Galaxy S8+, Note 8, LG V30, and LG G6.The Samsung Galaxy S8 and Note 8 lines launched with a zoom button in YouTube, but yesterday, several users reported this button being removed. Shortly after the button disappeared, those same users noticed that the pinch-to-zoom feature was available when watching YouTube.We noticed the feature on our Galaxy S8, S8+, and Note 8. This feature is not exclusive to Android Oreo as previously thought, as several Nougat devices have received the update already. Step 1: Back UpBefore we start, remember, by the time this process is complete, your device is going to go through a factory reset which means you're going to lose everything you care about. Make backups. Make all the backups.
Step 2: Download Android SDKTime to download the Android SDK tools so we can send commands from our PCs to our phones. There's a slim version I like to use which has only the essentials, or you could opt to download the full version from Google. Either is fine. I'll be using the slim version in this guide.

Step 3: Extract FileUnzip the file using your extractor of choice. WinRar is mine and it's free. You can unzip it anywhere, as long as you keep it together and remember where it is. A lot of folks create a new folder on their desktop, name it SDK, then extract the file right in there. Image via wonderhowto.com

Step 4: Confirm VersionMake sure you have what you need by navigating to the folder where you've extracted the file, which should be android-sdk-windows. Open the file, then open platform tools.Now hold in the Shift key, right-click, and select open command window here. Step 5: Download HTC Sync MangerTo ensure you have the drivers on your PC that you need, download and install the HTC Sync Manager from HTC.
Step 6: Download HTC ROM UpdateThis is the most recent software update to the AT&T HTC One officially released by HTC. This utility will run a setup wizard and apply the update to your device automatically via micro USB cable when you open it (when we're ready). Download and install from this link.
Step 7: Enable USB DebuggingOn your HTC One, select USB debugging in Settings -> Developer Options, if it's not already.

Step 8: Lock BootloaderTo proceed further, the bootloader on your device needs to be locked. If you've been using Cyanogen, odds are it isn't. If you're not sure, power down your device. Now power it back on while holding in the volume down key.At the bottom of your screen you should see Androids skateboarding, and at the top of your screen you should see text that either reads 'LOCKED' or 'RELOCKED'. If it reads 'UNLOCKED' you need to re-lock it. You can do this by plugging your device into your computer with your micro USB cable. Now, using the volume keys on your phone, highlight FASTBOOT on your device and use the power key to make the selection to enter the device in fastboot mode.In the terminal on your PC, enter:fastboot oem lock

Step 9: Run HTC ROM Update UtilityEnsuring your device is plugged into your computer with your micro USB cable and that it's in fastboot mode, run the HTC ROM update utility. Follow the instructions from the wizard until the update is complete. The process should take about ten minutes and your device will power off and on a few times. Don't disconnect the cable, power down your computer, or touch your phone until it tells you! Once the wizard alerts you that the process is done, so are you! Enjoy your factory version HTC One! Now, in the latest for iPhones, iOS 12.1.1, Apple brought back a few things that were removed or made more difficult to access in previous updates, and it even has a few new features to offer, albeit small ones.Apple took iOS 12.1.1 out of beta on Dec. 5, 2018, so everyone can get there hands on it right now via the "Software Update" settings. 1. FaceTime Live Photos Are BackApple removed the Live Photo option in FaceTime when iOS 12 came out â€” an odd move since the feature was just added in iOS 11. It was likely just forgotten about while Apple pushed to get Group FaceTime in working order. Thankfully, Apple has brought back the Live Photo shutter button in FaceTime, and it works exactly as it did before.The only thing you have to keep in mind is that you and whoever else you're on a FaceTime video chat with needs to be running either an iOS 11 version or iOS 12.1.1, not iOS 12.1 or 12.1, with "FaceTime Live Photos" turned on in the settings. Also, it does not work in Group FaceTime chats, so it's only for one-on-one video calls.

2. Flip Camera & Mute Is Easy Again in FaceTimeAnother odd thing in the iOS 12 and iOS 12.1 version of FaceTime is the on-screen menu during a call. In iOS 11, your thumbnail image was how you flipped the camera view, and there was only a Live Photo shutter, end call button, and mute microphone button on the screen. That's it.With iOS 12, Apple added camera effects to FaceTime as well as group chats, so a new hidden menu was created to house it all. Unfortunately, the flip camera and mute buttons ended up there, and the only thing on the call screen was a camera effects button, end call button, and ellipsis (â€¢â€¢â€¢) for the hidden menu, as well as your thumbnail which did not flip the camera anymore.Now, in iOS 12.1.1, the visible buttons right away now include the camera effects and end call as well as a mute, flip, and Live Photo buttons. Instead of the ellipsis, you swipe up the menu to see more options. 4. Sprint Users Finally Get VoLTEWhile all of its big competitors have had voice over LTE capabilities for years, Sprint is finally on board now too. However, VoLTE seems fairly limited right now, for select markets only instead of nationwide, while they work out all the kinks. Step 1: Get the QR CodeOn your Android 10 phone, start by opening the Settings app and heading to "Network & internet." Next, tap the word "Wi-Fi" â€” the text itself, not the toggle switch next to it. Now, select your current Wi-Fi network from the list (this only works for your current network), then tap the "Share" button with an icon that looks like a QR code. You'll be asked to scan your fingerprint or enter your PIN, so do that â€” then the QR code will be revealed.
